The SMC Cartriges tend to deteriorate and fail over time and they are non serviceable, what we do is carefully extract the old cartriges without scratching up the block, then tap the hole to receive a threaded fitting. once all the ports are tapped we install the new fittings and do a leak down test to make sure everything works as it should.
The new fittings are solid brass automotive grade fittings, and have a serviceable o ring which can be replaced incase of a leak down the road.
We can even step up or down the line sizes, or put in a 3/8 exhaust valve on a 1/4 - manifold for a faster air out.
